How to make Quinoa Upma

A healthy mix of vegetables and nutritious quinoa upma is a great recipe to kickstart your day with. Apart from being simple and filling, it also happens to be one of those dishes that can totally be made with ingredients always available in the kitchen.


Serves 2
  • oil

    As required

  • mustard seeds

    1 teaspoon

  • urad dal

    1 teaspoon

  • asafoetida powder

    1 Pinch

  • curry leaves

    7 Numbers

  • ginger

    1 teaspoon

  • green chilles

    2 Numbers

  • onion

    1 Numbers

  • quinoa

    1/2 cup

  • water

    As required

  • salt

    As required

  • carrot

    1 Numbers

  • french beans

    1/4 cup

  • green peas

    1/4 cup

  • cashew nuts

    1 tablespoon

  • lemon juice

    As required


Step 1

In a kadhai,add some oil and heat it. Put some mustard seeds into it.

Add some urad dal, a pinch of asafetida, and curry leaves into the oil. Add some ginger, green chillies and onions to the mix and keep stirring. Finally, add some quinoa into the kadhai and give it a good mix.

Pour in some water and a pinch of salt. After a final gentle stir, cover it with a lid and let it cook for a while.
