Traditionally, Aloo Jeera is served with roti or dal chawal, meaning pulse and rice. But it can also be a full meal when you are trying to cut your weight. Potatoes provide good fat along with the daily calories you need. Cumins aka jeera comes with a lot of medicinal properties.Cumin seeds and oil helps to fight bacterial infection and other parasites. It is good for patients suffering from diarrhea. Studies suggest jeera is also helpful in controlling blood sugar levels, cholesterol and inflammation. So technically, aloo jeera is a food that can be served to anyone irrespective of their health unless the said person has a cumin allergy, which is extremely rare. Serves 2
  • oil

    3 tablespoon

  • cumin seeds

    1 teaspoon

  • green chilli

    2 grams

  • potato

    1 cup

  • salt

    As required

  • coriander leaves

    As required


Step 1

Take a pan. Heat it on full flame.

Once cumin seeds splutter, throw in chopped green chillies. Sauté them for a few seconds.

Sprinkle salt as per taste. Coat the potatoes with salt and oil by tossing them lightly on the pan.
