Dahi Vada is one of north India's most well-known street food dishes. A cooling recipe because of the yogurt, this one is literally addictive. It tastes best when served for snacks. A lip-smacking Indian delicacy, it can be prepared using some easily available ingredients in your kitchen.
Wash and soak the urad dal overnight and grind to a fine paste by adding very little water. Beat the batter very well till light and fluffy.
See VideoPreheat oil in a deep frying pan, Wet your palm and place a little batter and shape like a ball. Drop slowly into the hot oil. Deep fry on medium heat for sometime and then fry on low heat till golden brown.
See VideoRemove these deep-fried vadas into a bowl of water and let them soak for 15-20 minutes. Remove and gently press between your palms so that excess water oozes out.
