Easy & quick, Aloo mutter is always a great lunch time recipe option. A combination of minimal ingredients, aloo mutter is a basic recipe with every household having it's own version. Mop it up with roti or paranthas, this is a winner both ways.


Serves 2
  • potato2 cup
  • mustard seeds1 teaspoon
  • cumin seeds1 teaspoon
  • asafoetida powder1 teaspoon
  • green chilli1 teaspoon
  • ginger garlic paste1 tablespoon
  • onion1/2 cup
  • green peas1 cup
  • coriander powder1 tablespoon
  • cumin powder1 teaspoon
  • red chilli powder1 teaspoon
  • turmeric powder1 teaspoon
  • salt As required
  • water As required
  • oil As required


Step 1

Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, asafoetida, green chillies chopped, ginger garlic paste.

Add chopped onion and sauté for 3 minutes. Now add green peas and let it cook for 3 minutes.

Add cubed boiled potatoes along with coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, amchur, salt and mix well.

Add a little water, and mix well. Cook on medium heat for 3-4 minutes. Serve hot with any bread of your choice.
