There is a wide range of Indian sweets and If there is one sweet that stands out in all of them, it surely is Gulab Jamun. Tiny deep-fried, dough balls dipped in sugar syrup, these are extremely popular the world over. Reaching beyond the barriers of the Indian sub-continent, Gulab Jamun is today served at restaurants across the globe. However, there is still some ambiguity regarding its origins. Some say it originated in medieval India, other sources suggest that it was made by the Arabs for the first time.
