Also, such food items may take a lot of time, but the final output is irresistible. One such hit recipe from Rajasthan happens to be kanji vada. It’s a super delectable dish prepared with lentil vadas soaked in lip-smacking kanji water fermented for a long time. It could be a wonderful meal and a great tea time snack.


Ingredients

  • mustard seeds

    3 tablespoon

  • carom seeds

    1/2 tablespoon

  • red chillies

    3 piece

  • asafoetida powder

    1/4 tablespoon

  • turmeric powder

    1/2 tablespoon

  • cumin powder

    2 tablespoon

  • black salt

    1 tablespoon

  • mustard oil

    1 teaspoon

  • moong dal

    1 cup

  • urad dal

    1/2 cup

  • ginger

    2 tablespoon

  • green chillies

    1 teaspoon

  • coriander leaves

    1/3 cup

  • boondi

    1 cup

  • mint leaves

    1 cup

Preparation

Step 1

Dry roast black mustard, yellow mustard, carom seeds and whole red chillies for a couple of minutes. Add asafoetida and roast it all for another minute.

Once it cools down, just grind all of it together into a fine powder to make the kanji masala. Keep it aside.

Take water in a bowl, and add spices namely turmeric powder, black salt, salt, mustard oil and kanji masala (that you prepared).
