Pav Bhaji- How to make Pav Bhaji

Pav Bhaji – When we think of beach, a picture of hot buttery pav bhaji comes to our mind. It’s a very easy and utterly delicious recipe to make at home. A spicy curry of mixed veggies, majorly boiled potato cooked in a special blend of spices and served with soft buttered Pav(Indian version of Bun). Pav Bhaji masala is added with other spices for that punch which give the bhaji mouth-watering flavours. Pav Bhaji is everyone’s all time favourite snack/meal option. Can be consumed at any hour of the day.


Serves 2
  • butter2 tablespoon
  • ginger garlic paste2 teaspoon
  • onion1/2 cup
  • carrot1/2 cup
  • cauliflower1/2 cup
  • french beans1/2 cup
  • green peas1/2 cup
  • tomato puree1/2 cup
  • salt As required
  • red chilli powder1 teaspoon
  • turmeric powder1 teaspoon
  • pav bhaji masala2 tablespoon
  • potato1/2 cup
  • water As required
  • pav2 pieces
  • butter2 tablespoon


Step 1

Heat Butter in a pan and add ginger & garlic paste & onions.

Add carrots, boiled peas, blanched cauliflower, and beans. Cook it for a while.

Put fresh tomato Puree and packaged tomato puree in equal quantities. Cook the tomatoes for 5-6 minutes.

Add some more butter and then add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder & pav bhaji masala. Stir fry for a minute and then mix boiled potatoes to it. Add water as needed and let it simmer. After few minutes, mash the bhaji.

Heat 2 Tablespoon butter in a thick-bottomed pan or a tawa. Slice pav horizontally into two and pan fry in butter for half a minute. Garnish the bhaji with chopped coriander leaves, remaining butter and serve hot with pav.
