Tandoori Chicken without Tandoor at home

Tandoori chicken is a popular street side dish of India. A hot tandoor in the middle of the street with juicy chicken being prepared on it is a sight to behold. But what if we tell you that you can enjoy tandoori chicken at your home, that too without a tandoor! Well, this recipe is about tandoori chicken without tandoor that cuts down the effort and still gives a spot on taste. Serve it with some lemon and you are sorted for your chicken cravings!


Serves 2
  • chicken2 Numbers
  • lemon juice1 Numbers
  • curd1 cup
  • ginger garlic paste2 tablespoon
  • salt As required
  • red chilli powder1 teaspoon
  • coriander powder1 teaspoon
  • turmeric powder1/4 teaspoon
  • cumin powder1 teaspoon
  • kasoori methi As required
  • butter1 tablespoon
  • oil As required


Step 1

Take 2 chicken leg pieces and make slat incisions on top

In a separate bowl add curd, lemon, ginger garlic paste, salt, red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder and kasuri methi. Mix well.

Now add the chicken to the bowl and coat it with the marinade nicely.

Next, take a pan and add some butter and oil in it.

Now put a caged, aluminum trivet on top of the gas stove and place the chicken on it. Brush the chicken with some oil.

Once done, take off heat and serve with chillies, chutney and some lemon.
