By sharing an initial ranking for March 2025, Taste Atlas shared the 20 best tea brands. To everyone’s surprise, chai is one of the irreplaceable beverages that resides in the heart and soul of every individual. For people, a hot cup of chai is perfect to start the day, and for a comforting sip, many chai lovers travel across the globe to try out authentic variations.
According to Taste Atlas, out of 20 tea brands, 5 brands made it to the list, adding a feather to the culinary scene of India. The Indian brands include Makaibari Tea Estate from Kurseong, Halmari Tea Estate from Dibrugarh, Glenburn Tea Estate from Kolkata, Rujani Tea from Jorhat and Vahdam from Noida.

Talking about the Makaibari tea estate, it is the world’s first organic tea factory that was established back in 1859. This Darjeeling tea is one of the award-winning options where you can try an authentic cup of tea for a change.
Followed closely by the Halmari Tea estate, it is believed to be synonymous with a garden producing some of the finest orthodox and CTC teas in the world. Nestled in the lush Dibrugarh region, the brand stands as a beacon of quality and innovation.
Glenburg Tea Estate, this wholesome tea estate has been run by the Kolkata-based Prakash Family. The tea plantation was started by a Scottish Tea company in 1859 and is one of the pioneering tea planting families.
