Chana Masala recipe: How to make Chana Masala: Chana or Bengal gram is an iconic Indian ingredient and can be used in a variety of ways to create yummy recipes. Dry Chana Masala is a healthy dish where chana is mixed with different spices. It can be enjoyed with a plethora of Indian breads like Bhatura, Roti, Kulcha or Puris. You can also give it a go as a healthy lunchtime option.

  • cumin seeds

  • ginger garlic paste

    1 tablespoon

  • ginger

    1 tablespoon

  • kala chana

    2 cup

  • coriander powder

    1 teaspoon

  • turmeric powder

    1 teaspoon

  • kashmiri mirch powder

    1 teaspoon

  • lemon juice

    1 teaspoon

  • coriander leaves

    1 teaspoon

  • oil

    As required

  • water

    As required

  • salt

    As required

  • tomato

    As required

Preparation

Step 1

Heat some oil in a pan and temper cumin seeds to it. Add ginger garlic and cook. Cook till the rawness of ginger and garlic is gone.

Add the boiled kala chana and stir it. Let it cook for 2 mins. Add in all the spices: red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and salt to taste.Mix well. Add water & stir again. Let the water dry up.

Add a few drops of lemon juice, followed by some freshly chopped coriander. Mix it up well. Garnish with chopped tomatoes & onions. Serve!
