Malai Cake- How to make Malai Cake

As the name suggests Malai Cake is a delicate sweet treat created through a fusion of Indian traditional juicy desserts and western baked goodies.

Malai cake is an extension of the famous Indian sweet the Ras Malai. This cake is technically a juicy spongy cake to please the palate of any dessert lover. Our vegetarian recipe uses no egg to cook it. Malai cake is a perfect snack for festival days. Follow this recipe to whiff a quick one before the guests arrive.


Ingredients

Serves 2
  • milk

    1 litre

  • milk

    3/4 cup

  • oil

    1/2 cup

  • sugar

    1/2 cup

  • vanilla extract

    As required

  • all purpose flour

    1.5 cup

  • fruit salt

    1 teaspoon

  • milk

    1 tablespoon

  • saffron

    As required

  • sugar

    1/4 tablespoon

  • cornflour

    1/2 tablespoon

  • milk

    2 teaspoon

  • cardamom powder

    As required

  • almonds

    As required

  • pistachios

    As required

Preparation

Step 1

Take a deep pan and boil the milk in it. Use low flame and allow the milk to thicken. It will be reduced in half when the desired thickness is reached.

In a mixing bowl take the rest of the milk and combine vanilla essence, powdered sugar well. Use a strainer to sieve the flour and mix it in folding manner. When the batter is ready mix end in it and whisk.

Step 3

Now take a baking tray of desired shape, pour the batter and even with spatula. Tap it twice to make a smooth base.
