Murmura chivda is one such addictive snack that needs minimal oil and offers a blast of flavours. What else you need? A perfect blend of spices, puffed rice, nuts and cereals, murmura mix will never fail to entice you. Other than the basic ingredients, some people add crunchy veggies like chopped onion and cucumber and some lemon juice or tamarind paste to give it a twist. asafoetida powder

mustard seeds
1 teaspoon
turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon
green chilli
3 Numbers
curry leaves
15 Numbers
chana dal
1/4 cup
cashews
1/3 cup
salt

Heat oil in a kadhai and add asafoetida, mustard seeds and turmeric powder. When mustard seeds start to crackle, add green chillies and curry leaves and sauté till the curry leaves become crisp.
Add roasted chana dal and sauté for about a minute. Add cashews and roast until they become light brown.
Next, add murmura and mix well. Add salt and fried peanuts. Mix well until it is crispy. Let it cool at room temperature and store in an airtight tin. Your healthy murmura chivda is ready for munching.
