And, if you haven’t tasted the Gujarati Khaman Dhokla, you’re missing out on a whole lot! But do not worry, for now we’ve brought to you the simplest yet tempting, hassle-free and most effective recipe of Dhokla which you can prepare in a coffee mug in a microwave! Though the traditional method of preparing dhoklas is still sacred and gives excellent results, this recipe of Mug Dhokla in a microwave can be made even by your 10 year old and the result will be light, fluffy, spongy dhoklas that can be scooped out with a spoon.

  • yogurt

    1 cup

  • ginger chilli paste

    1 teaspoon

  • turmeric powder

    1/4 teaspoon

  • oil

    1 tablespoon

  • salt

    1/2 teaspoon

  • fruit salt

    1/2 teaspoon

  • sugar

    1/2 teaspoon

  • oil

    1 teaspoon

  • mustard seeds

    1 teaspoon

  • asafoetida powder

    1 teaspoon

  • dry red chilli

    1 teaspoon

  • curry leaves

    6 Numbers

Preparation

Step 1

Begin by adding a cup of besan in a big bowl. Now add some turmeric powder.

Add ginger chilli paste to the bowl along with required amount of oil. Pour a cup of yogurt in to this mixture.
