Jowar Khichu Recipe
Prepared with a blend of simple ingredients, follow these easy steps and enjoy your day.
Ingredients
- ½ cup jowar atta
- 2 green chillies
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1.5 cups water
- 1 tsp oil
- Salt to taste
For chilli oil
- 1 tbsp oil
- ½ tsp chilli powder
Method
- To prepare this delightful jowar khichu at home, start by adding water, oil, cumin, finely chopped green chilli and oil in a heavy-bottomed vessel. Ensure that the vessel is medium-sized.
- Now, over medium flame, bring the water to a boil and turn down the heat to low. Add ½ cup jowar atta and mix well if there are no lumps. Turn the heat up to medium and cook until the mix becomes glossy and thick.
- For the chilli oil, heat 1 tbsp of peanut oil in a heavy ladle. Take it off the heat and immediately add ½ tsp spicy red chilli powder and mix everything well. Keep it aside.
- To serve the dish, divide the hot jowar khichu into two portions and drizzle with some chilli oil. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve the dish immediately. Enjoy!
