Shake Shack and Asha’s Collaborate on Limited-Edition Butter Chicken Menu in UAE

Shake Shack has unveiled an unexpected culinary collaboration in the Middle East, teaming up with the fine-dining Indian restaurant chain Asha’s to introduce a limited-time menu centered around the iconic flavours of butter chicken. The partnership aims to blend the casual, fast-food appeal of Shake Shack with the traditional North-West Indian recipes for which the restaurant chain, founded by the late singer Asha Bhosle, is known.

The new menu, which is currently available exclusively in the UAE and Kuwait, reimagines the classic dish through a series of fast-food staples. According to the brand, the collaboration features a Butter Chicken Sandwich, loaded Butter Chicken Fries, and crispy Butter Chicken Bites. To round out the themed offerings, the menu also includes a Mango Lassi Shake, designed to complement the spiced profiles of the savoury items.

A Fusion of Fine Dining and Fast Food

Established in 2002, Asha’s has built a reputation for its elegant dining atmosphere and authentic Indian cuisine, with locations spanning the Middle East and the United Kingdom. By partnering with a global fast-food brand like Shake Shack, the restaurant is shifting its traditional flavours into a more accessible, casual format. Shake Shack Middle East described the initiative on social media as a crossover that aims to satisfy specific cravings by marrying their signature items with the established flavour profile of Asha’s butter chicken.

While butter chicken has become a global staple since its origins in Delhi during the 1950s—where it was reportedly created by combining tandoor-cooked chicken with a rich sauce of tomatoes, butter, and marinade juices—this collaboration marks a departure from the dish's traditional presentation. The limited-edition menu is not available at all of the restaurant chain's international locations, with outlets in Qatar, Bahrain, and the United Kingdom excluded from the rollout. For diners in the UAE and Kuwait, the menu remains a temporary addition to the Shake Shack lineup.
