If you are getting late for office or want something filling with your evening tea, then bread upam is the ideal dish to make. Ready in less than 10 mins it is a super quick recipe with variation according to your taste and mood. Being low on calories it will fill you up and keep you or the children energised.


Ingredients

  • oil2 tablespoon
  • mustard seeds1 teaspoon
  • cumin seeds1 teaspoon
  • asafoetida powder1 teaspoon
  • onion1 cup
  • ginger1 tablespoon
  • garlic1 tablespoon
  • curry leaves8 Numbers
  • tomato1 cup
  • salt As required
  • turmeric powder1 teaspoon
  • kashmiri mirch powder1 teaspoon
  • water1 cup
  • bread2 cup

Preparation

Step 1

Heat some oil in a pan. Add some Rai (Mustard Seeds) & Cumin Seeds (Jeera) to it and fry till they start to crackle.

Add finely chopped onions to the pan and fry them till they turn light golden brown.

Then add Freshly chopped Ginger-Garlic to it and cook until it’s raw smell goes away.

Then add a few curry leaves and fry them for a few seconds. Add finely chopped tomatoes and cook them till they become soft.

Now add Salt, Turmeric Powder (Haldi) and Red Chilli Powder to the pan.

Pour some water and cover it with a lid, let it cook for 2-3 minutes.

Cut bread slices into small square pieces and remove the sides and add them to the pan. I have used brown bread here, but you can use any bread you like.

Mix everything and coat the bread with the masala completely. Let it cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
