Quick Bhindi Raita for the okra lovers!

Raitas are an integral part of Indian meals. They are quite basic & simple but make best accompaniments for the main dishes. Bhindi or okra is commonly used in Indian cooking but mostly in gravies or as a fry. Well, here's a recipe that gives you a Bhindi Raita! Yes, not a boondi raita but a bhindi raita! It might sound like a rare way to serve bhindi but is delicious! Do give this unique raita a try and make it in your next meal.


Ingredients

Serves 2
  • okra1 cup
  • oil As required
  • curd2 cup
  • rock salt1/2 teaspoon
  • cumin powder1/2 teaspoon
  • black pepper1/4 teaspoon

Preparation

Step 1

Take 1 cup of bhindi (okra). Clean it nicely.

Now chop the bhindi into small pieces.

Heat some oil in a pan and fry the chopped bhindi till it becomes crispy.

Remove the bhindi from the pan and drain the excess oil.

Take 2 cups curd and whisk it nicely to get rid of any lumps.

Now add rock salt, roasted cumin powder and black pepper to the curd. Mix nicely.
