Originated from the capital city Butter chicken is the most loved dish all over the world. It is best when eaten with naan or rice. This dish is all a good source of protein and nutrient that are important for your health despite being spicy, rich and heavy.


Ingredients

  • chicken7 pieces
  • red chilli powder1 teaspoon
  • salt As required
  • ginger garlic paste1 teaspoon
  • coriander powder1 teaspoon
  • lemon juice1 tablespoon
  • curd1 tablespoon
  • butter1 tablespoon
  • oil2 tablespoon
  • black peppercorns1 teaspoon
  • garlic5 cloves
  • ginger1/2 piece
  • dried red chillies3 grams
  • bay leaves3 Numbers
  • onion1 cup
  • tomato1 cup
  • water As required
  • oil2 tablespoon
  • cashew paste2 tablespoon
  • sugar1/2 tablespoon
  • cream1/2 cup
  • kasoori methi1 teaspoon

Preparation

Step 1

Marinate the chicken pieces in a bowl by mixing together curd, ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder, coriander powder, lemon Juice, & salt. Refrigerate for 4-5 hours for the chicken to marinate.

Place a pan over medium flame and heat Butter & oil in it.

Add black peppercorns, garlic cloves, a piece of ginger, 2-3 whole red chillies, Bay leaves and mix it together.

Put diced onion and tomato in it. Sauté it for a while and add salt to it.

Pour some water. Cover it with a lid and let it cook till the tomatoes becomes mushy. Take out the bay leaves and transfer it to a blender to make a paste.

Take some oil in another kadhai. Add the marinated chicken pieces when the oil is hot and cook for 10 minutes. The chicken will become dry, almost crispy.

Pour the blended Paste in it. Stir it well and let it boil.

Now, add Cashew paste, sugar and salt in it. Also add a little bit of cream. Put a lid on the pan and cook for 15 minutes.

After a while, remove the lid and sprinkle kasuri methi on top to add flavour to your dish. Once the gravy has thickened, transfer the dish in a bowl and garnish with fresh cream and coriander leaves. Serve hot to enjoy!
