Bored of regular old French fries? Crispy shanghai potatoes is an zingy twist to your regular bland fries. The hot-and-sweet sauce complements the fried potatoes perfectly. No one can stop at one. Follow this simple recipe for crispy Shanghai potatoes.


Ingredients

Serves 4
  • potato200 grams
  • corn starch3 tablespoon
  • oil As required
  • oil1 tablespoon
  • garlic1 tablespoon
  • onion1/2 cup
  • green chilli1 teaspoon
  • schezwan sauce3 tablespoon
  • green chilli sauce1 tablespoon
  • salt As required
  • coriander leaves As required
  • cornflour2 tablespoon
  • water As required

Preparation

Step 1

Peel the potatoes, wash them thoroughly and cut them into ½ inch thick baton-like shape.

Coat the potatoes evenly with corn flour. Keep them aside.

Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the potato batons till they are crisp and golden.

In a separate pan, fry garlic, onions, green chilies and sauté for 2 minutes.

Next, add Schezwan sauce, chilli sauce, salt, sugar and coriander. Mix well.

Add corn flour and water in a small bowl. Mix well to form a slurry.
