Ingredients

Serves 4
  • basa fillets200 grams
  • salt As required
  • chilli flakes As required
  • black pepper As required
  • butter1.5 tablespoon
  • garlic As required
  • coriander leaves As required
  • oil1 teaspoon
  • garlic As required
  • water3 tablespoon
  • lemon juice As required
  • parsley As required
  • cornflour2 tablespoon

Preparation

Step 1

Marinate the basa fillets with black pepper, chilli flakes and salt. Keep aside to rest.

In a bowl, prepare the butter mixture- take butter at room temperature. Add to it chilli flakes, chopped garlic and chopped coriander leaves. Mix well.

Take the marinated fish and coat it with cornflour. Heat some oil in a pan, followed by a spoonful of the prepared butter mixture. Once the butter starts to melt, add in the chopped garlic.

Place the marinated fish into the pan one by one. Let it cook on both sides till the fillets turn golden brown.When the fish looks somewhat done, squeeze in the lemon juice to begin making the sauce. Add in a little bit of water followed by lemon juice again. When the water starts to bubble, add the remaining butter mixture. Let it boil for 1-2 minutes.

Garnish with chopped parsley or coriander, and drizzle over the lemon sauce. Serve it with a side of bread, flavourful rice or the fish alone.
